Rabirag artistes welcomed monsoon presenting evergreen songs of Rabindranath Tagore on the season at the Shawkat Osman Auditorium of
the Central Public Library on Saturday.
Dance troupe Nrityanchal also presented a few colourful dance recitals with Tagore songs at the programme titled Barshamangal.
The show began with a chorus presentation of Bishwa bina robey. Eminent Tagore singer Sadi Muhammad led the chorus which entertained the audience giving brilliant presentation of some unique Tagore songs glorifying the beauty of the season including Bajro manik diye gantha, Amar nisith raater badal gantha and Nilnabo ghoney asar gogony.
Subsequently, Sadi Muhammad gave a soulful presentation of Ami srabon akashey. His magnificent voice modulation and unique style while rendering the song moved the audience.
The audience also enjoyed solo performances of other singers including Parvin Yasmin, Makhon Hawladar, Susanta Sarkar, Ranju, Indrani Karmokar and Naznin Sultana.
They presented songs such as Aj akasher moner katha, Herio shyamol ghano, Sraboner gogoney, Gohon raater srabondhara, Swapne amar money holo and Badaldhara holo sara.
Synchronosised with Tagore songs such as Mon mor meghero songi and Pagla howar badal diney, Nrityanchal artistes created the romantic ambiance the cloudy sky takes during in monsoon. The troupe also gave a brilliant performance with another Tagore song Kharo bayu bouy.
A remarkable number of viewers enjoyed the show. ‘I enjoyed the show, especially the chorus presentation of songs and dance recitals,’ Sharmin Sultana, an audience, said.
