A Bangladeshi youth was held by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) from Dharmagrah border area under Ranisangkoil upazila of the district early Tuesday. The detainee was identified as Farjan Ali ,19, son of Md Abdul, inhabitant of Sahanbaj village. BGB and local sources said, the youth, Farjan Ali, and his two friends crossed the India border illegally. The youth was held by BSF personnel of Sripur camp near 379/7s No main pillar of Dharmagrah border at around 4:30 am. The two friends of Farjan Ali fled the scene and returned to Bangladeshi territory.
Acting captain of BGB-30 battalion of Thakurgaon Major Alamgir confirming the incident told the independent that, after getting the information we sent a protest letter to BSF Sripur camp authorities. We also sent them a letter to hold a flag meeting in this connection.
Earlier on Sunday another Bangladeshi youth was also held by the BSF from Nagorvita Border area under Baliadangi Upazila of the district.
The detainees were identified as Sahabuddin, 18, son of Amatul Islam hailing from Sarkarpara village.
