Pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman said on Monday that he was feeling well and he believed he would deliver even better in future after his successful surgery in his injured left-shoulder in England earlier this month. Mustafiz landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka around 11:30am on Monday 11 days after his shoulder operation under surgeon Andrew Wallace at Fortius clinic.
‘Alhamdulillah, I am fine’ said the pace sensation at his arrival. ‘Now it will be better for me. I have your prayers, countrymen’s prayers with me,’ he added.
Mustafiz now has to go through a rehabilitation process to gain his full fitness to get back in cricket and Bangladesh cricket team’s chief physician Debashish Chowdhury, who accompanied him in England, will guide him to achieve that.
‘They [English doctors] showed me what to do after the operation and explained those to Debashish Da. My work will increase after four weeks. ‘
Mustafiz said he will feel bad as he will miss few games but he reckoned at the same time that if he can make a good rehabilitation process it will reap him rich reward.
The 20-year old pacer, who has been a mystery with the cherry in his hand to most of the batsmen around the globe, admitted that he was frightened of needles but the doctors gave him solace.
‘I do not have the habit of taking needles, perhaps that’s why I was scared. They said I would feel pain if needle is injected but would not feel it if operated. ‘
