Results of admission test today
The results of admission test of 61 public and private medical colleges will be published this afternoon.
A total of 43,644 candidates competed for 2509 seats in 18 public colleges and 3550 seats at 43 private colleges this year, said Prof Khandaker Shefayet Ullah, medical education director Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Among the 2509 seats in public medical colleges, 20 seats are reserved for indigenous students and 80 for foreign students. Two percent of the total seats are reserved on freedom fighters’ quota, Prof Khandaker said.
The results will be available on website http://www.dghs.gov.bd/ and also through any mobile phone operators, he said.
To get result information a candidate have to send short message by typing ‘MISdghs< space >college code< space >registration no’ to ‘9934’.
For the first time combined admission test of private and public medical colleges was held on October 22.
Prof Khandaker said massive steps were taken to prevent question-paper leak with the help of home ministry.
“Besides closely monitoring, activities of the medical coaching centres were suspended for the last five days prior to the test from October 18 to October 22. The question papers were published only 24 hours before the test.”
The admission process would be completed by the end of November this year, he added
