State minister for home Shamsul Huq Tuku on Monday said that the government would reward those who would provide information about marauding criminals to law enforcers. Tuku made the announcement after placing wreaths at the Razarbag Police Line monument in the capital. “Provoked by the BNP chairperson, Khaleda Zia, opposition activists have resorted to vandalism across the country. Such destructive activities are being committed to obstruct the war criminals’ trial process,” the minister said. Claiming that the Jamaat-e-Islami would not be spared for spreading violence, Tuku said that law enforcers have already launched a series of special drives across the country to arrest miscreants. The inspector general of police (IGP), Hasan Mahmood Khondaker, DMP commissioner Benazir Ahmed and other senior DMP officials were present at the ceremony.
