Six people were killed and 73 others injured in road accidents in Comilla, Chapainawabganj, Brahmanbaria, Lalmonirhat and Kishoreganj districts yesterday.
UNB, Comilla adds: Three people were killed and 40 others injured in a head-on collision between two buses on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in Chandina upazila yesterday.
The three including Siddikur Rahman, 27, of Srimantapur village of the upazila died on the spot.
Police said the accident occurred at about 3:00pm when a Dhaka-bound bus and another Ramganj-bound bus fell into a roadside ditch after colliding each other.
Our Chapainawabganj correspondent adds: A minor boy, Rishad Ahmad, 9, son of Azad Ali of Setupara-Amnura of Sadar upazila, was killed in a road accident at Kodamtola in the upazila yesterday.
Police said he died on the spot around 12:00 pm when an Amnura-bound bus hit him while crossing the road.
Our Correspondent from Brahmanbaria reports: A man was killed and three others were injured in a road accident while a bus dashed a privet car from opposite direction on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at Chandura Bazaar point in Bijoynagar upazila around 9:00am yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Md Shafiqur Rahman, 45, of Shantibag village in Moulibazaar district.
Our Lalmonirhat Correspondent adds: A woman was killed as a truck hit her at Kalirthan in Aditmari upazila on Lalmonirhat-Burimari Highway around 5:00pm yesterday.
Jaheda Begum, 48, wife of Monsur Ali of Kalirthan village of Aditmari upazila died on the spot.
Our Correspondent from Kishoreganj reports: At least 30 people were injured in a road accident at Kuliarchar upazila yesterday.
The accident took place on Kishoreganj- Bhairab Highway at Jagatchar in Kuliarchar at 2:00pm while a Sylhet-bound bus from Kendua skidded off the road and fell into a road side ditch.
