On a humid Friday afternoon, the driveway of Ruposhi Bangla Hotel was abuzz with excited music lovers; some were donning Iron Maiden tee shirts, a few of them sporting Led Zeppelin tees and all of them gathered to attend Rock Nation II. Organised by Live2, RockNation II turned out to be one of the biggest and most anticipated concert this season with the lineup of eight famous rock bands like Warfaze, Cryptic Fate, Nemesis, Arbovirus, Chirkutt, Lalon, Indalo and Powersurge.
The show started off with Powersurge sending the crowd into a frenzy with their powerful, thrash tracks and it was all but the fuel needed to ignite the fire that was to burn throughout the evening. After Powersurge, came Indalo, the new rock sensation headed by ex- Black lead Jon Kabir and their performance was as refreshing as Jon’s new look.
Covering tracks of Led Zeppelin, their own numbers and a few others, Indalo gave the stage to the popular band Cryptic Fate.
Cryptic Fate delighted the full- house audience with their numerous signature numbers, starting off with Bhoboghure and ending with Cholo Bangladesh. In between, they performed new tracks like Akromon from their latest album Noy Mash and old, stellar ones like Protibaad.
Cryptic Fate was followed by Chirkutt and they mesmerised the crowd with their new blend of music, creating a wonderful fusion of rock and folk.
Arbovirus got on stage, accompanied by theatrics of a police siren and their performance was off the hook! They mostly performed songs from their new album, which were creatively accentuated by background videos shown on the large screens.
Next was popular band Nemesis and they ripped the crowd with their super hit tracks like Obocheton, Kobe and several others. With so many brilliant performances executed, the next in line was Warfaze.
The pioneering metal band of the country Warfaze set the show alight with crowd favourites like Moharaj, Oshamajik, Boshe Achi and songs from their latest album.
If anybody thought it could not get any better, Lalon was there to prove him wrong. Like always, they performed with spirit and gusto and enthralled the audience with their music.
