Indian batsman Rohit Sharma will face his familiar foe Mustafizur Rahman in unfamiliar colours as his side Mumbai Indians will take on Mustafiz’s Hyderabad Sunrisers in their Indian Premier League match today at Hyderabad. Mustafiz has already grabbed the right-handed batsman four times in five international matches they have played against each other and made their battle an interesting one.
Mustafiz got rid of the Indian opener in his debut match, the first match of the bilateral series, and also picked him in the next two matches of the series to prove himself a nemesis for the Indian, who is the only player to have two double centuries in ODI.
Rohit got success against Mustafiz only on one occasion when he scored a belligerent 83 off just 55 in the Asia Cup opener in Dhaka.
Rohit earned 13 runs from 12 Mustafiz deliveries including a six in that match.
However, Mustafiz got his rival out once again in their battle at World Twenty20 match in India, when Rohit was caught at midwicket for 18.
On that occasion Rohit scored just two runs against Mustafiz off three balls.
Mustafiz continued to enjoy success in Indian Premier League having scalped three wickets in two matches with a commendable economy rate.
Sunrisers are yet to win any game despite his miserly bowling in the tournament.
They will desperately look to Mustafiz to enjoy a few more success against Mumbai captain Rohit that could pave the way for the maiden win of the David Warner-led side in this edition of IPL.
