The South Africa women’s cricket team arrived in Dhaka yesterday to play three one-day internationals and as many T20 internationals against their Bangladesh counterparts.
All the matches will take place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur where cricket returns for the first time since the planting of the new grass.
South Africa will play the matches as part of their preparation for the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 to be held in Sri Lanka in September-October.
The one-day matches will be held on September 6, 7 and 9 and the T20 matches are scheduled for September 11, 12 and 14.
Bangladesh women’s team captain Salma Khatun already expressed her optimism about a good showing against South Africa as she said that her team is confident after the Ireland trip.
