Bangladesh batsman Sabbir Rahman said they got over the shock of their traumatic defeat against India and are now ready focus on their next match.
Bangladesh reached Kolkata on Wednesday for their last match of the ICC World Twenty20 against New Zealand at Eden Gardens on March 26.The Tigers left Bangalore cursing their fortune as they lost a golden opportunity to beat the Indian in their own soil having dominated the side almost all the game before they wasted their all the good works in last three balls.
Young right-handed batsman said as a professional unit they overcame the trauma and look forward for future.
‘We are looking forward leaving behind the past,’ Sabbir told reporters at the team hotel after arrival in Kolkata.
‘We are professional players so we need to get over it soon.We were very disappointed last night but that is thing of past for us.’
Bangladesh reached 145-9 in 20 overs after restricting the opponent to 146-5 to taste the defeat after losing three wickets in the last three ball of the match.
Sabbir looked fluent before he was stumped beautifully by Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni for 26.
Soon after his dismissal Indians start pushing the pressure to make things difficult for the Tigers and as a result wickets kept on falling at regular intervals.
The defeat will hunt them forever but Sabbir said as professionals players cannot afford to lament on it.
‘It’s true that public will remember it for a long time but we can’t do that as we are professionals,’ said Sabbir.
‘As we played here we know conditions and hopefully it will help us in our next match,’ he added.
Bangladesh played against Pakistan at Eden Gardens to concede a 55-run defeat.
