The first South Asian Football Federation Women’s Championship will begin on December 4 in Cox’s Bazar instead of Dec 3 as was announced earlier.
Monjur Hossain Malu, chairman of the organising committee, explained the cause. ‘It will be tough to hold the opening ceremony and the opening match on Friday, Dec 3, as we have to attend Juma prayers and also in the winter season the sun light fades rapidly in the evening, for this reason we have decided to shift the inauguration date,’ said Malu.
The draw of the eight-nation tournament is expected to be held on November 14.
