Bangladesh all-rounder Sakib Al Hasan has denied reports that he acted in the upcoming Bangla feature film ‘Shob Kichhu Pechhone Fele.’
In a statement, the ex-captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team said, ‘I have not acted in that film in any capacity, not even as a guest actor.’He explained that he shot a TV commercial for the film’s sponsor during the production of the movie, but did not participate in the film itself.
‘I did, however, appear in a recording for a TV commercial for Fuji Film as its brand ambassador in Cox’s Bazar and also visited the set of the movie, which was located there at that time,’ the statement said.
‘It should be mentioned that Fuji Film is the title sponsor of ‘Shob Kichhu Pechhone Fele’. The production crew of the TV commercial in which I appeared and the one for the feature film were the same.’
Sakib, currently in England playing county cricket, claims the reports represent a deliberate attempt to deceive the public.
‘As I have not played any part in the movie, certain quarters portraying me as an actor in it are making a totally false claim intended to deceive the media, fans and the general public,’ he said, ‘I strongly protest this attempt at misleading and confusing the people.’
