A day after becoming the brand ambassador of Castrol, Sakib Al Hasan, the captain of Bangladesh, signed a contract to play the same role for the popular energy enhancing drink Boost on Thursday.
It puts Sakib in an elite group of cricketers such as Kapil Dev, Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who also served as brand ambassador of the product in India.
Sakib expressed his delight after signing the agreement at a convention centre at Gulshan in the city.
‘I am feeling very proud as all the legendary cricketers worked with Boost earlier. I thank Boost for giving me such an honour,’ said Sakib.
Raghuvir U Krishan, the country manager of Boost’s Bangladeshi franchise Glaxo Smith Kline Ltd, explained the reason for choosing Sakib as their ambassador.
‘Boost is the choice drink for strength, energy and progress. It goes with Sakib’s energetic performance and progressive career,’ he said.
Boost is the third product that chose the mercurial Bangladesh all-rounder as their brand ambassador after TVS motorbike and Castrol.
