Sakib Khan and Ananta Jalil will fight to grab the Eid film market as they did in the past years. Both the actors have played lead roles in big-budget films releasing this Eid.
The Film Producers and Distributors Association has given clearance to four films including Badiul Alam Khokan’s My Name is Khan, PA Kajol’s Bhalobasa Ajkal, MA Jalil’s Nishartho Bhalobasa and Sajal Khaled’s Kajol-er Dinratri.
Producers expect that three big-budget films such as My Name is Khan, Bhalobasa Ajkal and Nishartho Bhalobasa will hit the box office.
My Name is Khan and Bhalobasa Ajkal star Dhallywood heart-throb Sakib Khan when Nishartho Bhalobasa features sensational couple Ananta Jalil and Barsha.
The Impress Telefilm produced Kajol-er Dinratri, directed by Sajal Khaled, will be premiered on the Eid day on the Channel-i. The government grants winning film Kajol-er Dinratri features a teen’s life based on a story by Muhammad Zafar Iqbal. Tarin, Al-Monsoor and Turan have enacted the major roles in the film.
But a huge competition is likely amongst booking agents to get prints of the rest of the three films.
This year’s Eid film market is likely to experience another competition as new Dhallywood sensation Mahi and top-seeded actor Apu Biswas have paired with Sakib Khan in two Eid films.
Badiul Alam Khokon’s My Name is Khan, under the banner of Anan Picture, revolves around a typical storyline depicting the conflict between the rich and the poor that Dhallywood filmmakers never seem to get exhausted of. The hero, who is a grandson of a rich landlord basks in the glory of wealth but as the plot unfolds, he is devastated upon the discovery that his mother was a poor woman. Due to her humble background, his mother was denied the prestige of daughter-in-law by his landlord grandfather.
Popular Dhallywood stars Shakib Khan and Apu Biswas have enacted the lead characters in the film along with Prabir Mitra, Misha Saowdagor, Sadek Bachchu, Afzal Sharifin supporting roles. My Name is Khan is going to be released in around 100 cinema halls, shares the director.
PA Kajol’s Bhalobasa Ajkal, under the banner of Jazz Multimedia, also stars Shakib Khan. The heroine in this is a debutant named Mahi. This film which also has a typical romantic story will be screened in around 50 cinema halls.
Shakib Khan’s powerful position in Dhallywood will be challenged by MA Jalil Ananta with his big budget film Nishartho Bhalobasa with an English byline ‘What is Love?’
Romantic-thriller film Nihshartho Bhalobasha has been directed and produced by Ananta. He had also played the protagonist in the film along with actors like Barsha, Razzak, Misha Shawdagarand Kabila and others.
