Sakib al Hasan continued his indifferent form with the bat as Barbados Tridents fell to their first defeat in five matches against Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Caribbean Premier League on Sunday.
Electing to take first strike after winning the toss in Trinidad, Guyana posted 149-9 in their 20 overs before Barbados were dismissed for 122 in 19.4 overs, falling short by 27 runs with Sakib making just three.
New Zealand batsman Martin Guptill struck 73 off 55 balls to inspire
his side to a competitive
total as Sakib picked up two wickets in his four overs conceding 25 runs.
Despite Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik’s patient knock of 48 from 47 deliveries, Barbados succumbed to their first defeat after four consecutive victories.
In five matches so far, Sakib has garnered only 22 runs although he has scalped nine wickets at an average of 10.11.
