Bangladesh’s Sakib al Hasan continued his lean patch with the bat in the Indian Premier League for Kolkata Knight Riders as he was dismissed for six runs against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday. Promoted to one-down position, Sakib edged medium pacer Hardik Pandya to wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel for a cheap dismissal, playing in his fourth match of the season.
Sakib earlier got the opportunity to bat twice in the league this season and scored 11 and three runs respectively.
Until this match, he could claim just one wicket in his previous three matches, though the left-arm spinner was largely economical with the ball in this campaign.
His performance is sharp contrast to Bangladesh’s other participant in the tournament, left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman, who has become the toast of Indian media for his brilliant efforts.
Mustafiz claimed seven wickets so far in six matches at 6.18, the best economic rate among the top-10 bowlers.
