Bangladesh Women’s national cricket team will fly for Ireland tonight and their skipper Salma Khatun expressed her confidence of doing well in the tri-nation ODI and
Twenty20 tournament involving the host and Pakistan.
‘I think we will put up a good show as our team is more balanced than before,’ Salma told reporters at Mirpur. ‘We are a good batting and bowling unit while we have to improve our fielding,’ said Salma.
‘We know Ireland will be tough to beat in their home
while Pakistanis are a very strong side, but still we are confident that if we can play to our potential we will be able to match them,’ she added.
Bangladesh will start their campaign with the ODI tournament as they take on Pakistan on August 20 followed by Ireland the next day. After a day’s break they will once again face Pakistan and Ireland in consecutive dates.
Bangladesh will play the hosts in the first T20 game on August 28 while they will face Pakistan the next day.
