The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court on Thursday directed the government to raise 30 per cent pay scale to the lower court judges by May 16. It also rejected the two separate petitions filed by the government over the implementation of raising the salary and other allowances of its
subordinate court judges as recommended by the Judicial Service Pay Commission (JSPC).
It also directed the government to provide selection grade to the district judges, who have already completed five years in their posts, by the period.
Ten-member bench of the Appellate Division bench headed by Chief Justice Md Muzammel Hossain passed the order after rejecting the government petitions seeking time for formulating a law regarding rising the salary of lower court judges.
