The Supreme Court yesterday invited three top officials of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) to a tea party today for talks on the questionnaire and replies of its recent household survey.
The survey report released on December 23 last year said judiciary was the “most corrupt” service sector in the country last year.
Those invited for the talks are TIB Trustee Board Chairman M Hafiz Uddin Khan and Member Prof Mozaffer Ahmed, and Executive Director Iftekharuzzaman.
The tea party will be held at the Judges’ Lounge of the apex court at 4:30pm, said Badrul Alam Bhuiyan, deputy registrar of the SC, who signed the invitation letter.
An SC official said if the TIB officials cannot attend the talks for some reasons today, and fix another date, the SC authorities will consider it.
He said the members of the committee formed recently to evaluate the survey report will hold talks with the TIB officials for better understanding of the report.
The TIB officials were humbly requested to attend the tea party, he added.
Chief Justice ABM Khairul Haque on December 30 last year formed the committee of five senior High Court judges — Justice MA Wahhab Miah, Justice Nazmun Ara Sultana, Justice Md Imman Ali, Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain and Justice Sheikh Rezowan Ali.
