A schoolgirl was murdered after rape at village Nayanagar in Daudkandi upazila on Friday morning. She was a Class IX student of Chandpur-Motlab (South) Donagoda High School.
Daudkandi thana office- in-charge Abul Faysal said Shapown, 23, of the village taking chance of the girls aloneness in her house raped her and later strangulated her to death. Later the rapist hung her body from the ceiling, tried to misrepresent the killing as a suicide.
Investigation officer subinspector Mojibur Rahman said after primary investigation they found the symptoms of rape and asphyxiation by a pillow on her face.
The victim’s father filed a case of rape and murder with the police station.
Police were trying to nab the rapist.
