The second arthrogram report of Bangladesh paceman Mustafizur Rahman reconfirmed a grade-2 tear in his shoulder, said the Bangladesh Cricket Board official on Thursday.
Mustafiz underwent the test as the first one found fluid in his shoulder that prevented London-based shoulder specialist Tony Kocchar from taking any decision regarding him.A decision regarding his immediate future was hanging in the balance as BCB officials were unable to predict the gravity of his injury though they hinted that they were willing to sacrifice him for short term to reap long-term benefit.
BCB’s media committee chief Jalal Yunus said his second arthrogram report confirmed grade-2 SLAP (Superior Labrum, Anterior to Posterior) tear in his shoulder, which generally requires surgery.
‘Our physician will discuss the matter with Kocchar within a day or two to decide if or when Mustafiz will undergo surgery,’ said Jalal.
Mustafiz aggravated an old shoulder injury during his short stint with English county side Sussex in the ongoing Twenty20 Blast competition, playing two matches and bowling just 7.2 overs before being sidelined.
