A 16-year-old boy died after falling from a moving train while taking a selfie near Chuadanga Railway Station on Monday evening.
The deceased was identified as Rohan Hossain, a student of class 10 of Uthli Secondary School in Chuadanga. Rohan is the son of Raihan Hossain and Rehana, reports our Kushtia correspondent quoting police.
Rohan’s family said that he boarded the Khulna-bound Nakshikantha Express from Chuadanga station to return home. Government Railway Police (GRP), Kushtia’s Poradah Sub-Inspector, Sohel Ahmed, quoting witnesses, said Rohan was taking
selfies standing at the door of the train. He slipped from the running train while trying to take a selfie, according to witnesses.
Locals immediately took him to Chuadanga Sadar hospital with critical injuries. Rohan succumbed to his injuries around 11pm while being shifted to a Dhaka hospital.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chuadanga Sadar Police Station, Mahabbur Rahman said the body has been returned to Rohan’s family after the necessary process in the morning.
