Seven drug peddlers, including two women of a smugglers’ gang, were arrested in separate drives in port city of Chittagong Thursday night.
The police also recovered a car, a microbus, one air-gun, a pistol, 12kg hemp, number palates of car and Tk 1,94,700 from their possession.The arrestees were identified as Lutfur Rahaman, Shameem, Champa, Momin Mian, Alamin and Jahangir Alam.
Additional deputy commissioner of the Chittagong Metropolitan Police Mohammed Shahidullah said the police conducted some drives in different parts of the city
including Chandgaon residential area and held the dealers.
The gang had been dealing in various drugs including yaba tablets from Teknaf to Chittagong, he added.
Following recovery of 7,400 yaba tablets from a car left abandoned, the police started a hunt for the other member of the gang, said the ADC.
