Famous rocker and lead vocalist of the band Miles, Shafin Ahmed signed with ME Label, a product of Mushroom Entertainment Inc, as its new brand ambassador to promote digital distribution and
artist ownership of content on Tuesday.
At the signing ceremony, Shafin Ahmed released his new album ‘Hits of Shafin Ahmed’ (volume 1 and 2) digitally, which will be uploaded within a week on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and other music websites.
‘I think the future of music industry is in digital distribution system. It is more systematic than physical distributions. Physical distribution has lost their market and the artistes are not getting their legitimate shares. So it is better to start now before it is too late’, Shafin Ahmed said at the event.
ME Label digitally distribute audio and video content to major international online outlets including iTunes, Amazon, GooglePlay, Rhapsody and monitor streaming hits from free websites like YouTube, Spotify and LastFM.
Digital distribution via international and local companies is a transparent means of keeping track of sales so that the artiste is always informed of where and how much of the content is being bought and downloaded.
‘Bangla music has been pirated and streamed for free for years amounting to thousands of dollars of unclaimed royalty from these sites. ME Label stands for promoting Bangla music worldwide as well as legal rights and royalty for artiste’, vice president of the Mushroom Entertainment, Armeen Musa, said.
