Bangladesh national cricket team was hit by another injury scare on Wednesday when pace bowler Shafiul Islam stopped bowling in the nets after seven overs complaining a pain.
The lanky pace bowler, who has already missed a large part of the month-long fitness training due to callosity operation in his left ankle, suffered a stiff shoulder, though doctors later confirmed his injury was nothing serious.
‘It’s nothing serious as he is just having a stiff shoulder probably because of a problem while sleeping,’ Debashish Chowdhury, physician of Bangladesh Cricket Board told New Age.
The national team has already been weakened by injuries as former skipper Mashrafee bin Murtaza and fast bowler Sahahdat Hossain are already out contention for the upcoming tour in Zimbabwe.
The team will be announced in a day or two for the tour featuring a Test and five one-day internationals.
