Shah Rukh Khan is living it up at the moment. Following his teams’ victory at the Indian Premier League, the celebrations just haven’t stopped for King Khan.
With a crowd of about 70,000 cheering for them, KKR took a victory parade from South Kolkata’s Hazra Crossing to Eden Gardens. The chief minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, felicitated the actor, his entourage and the Kolkata Knight Riders’ team.
The situation turned quite chaotic, when the entire crowd was allowed to enter the stadium, causing a stampede followed by a mild lathi charge.
SRK in his inimitable style; charmed the crowd with his jigs, enthusiasm and the one-liners.
The actor was quoted as saying, “It is a humble moment, I must say. For the last four seasons, all the KKR players and our families were moving with a desire to win the cup. We had all come from different states — some had come from Mumbai, Gujarat and Delhi; and made this city our home. So we wanted to win the hearts of the Kolkatans. Today I felt that I had won the heart of Kolkata. After all this, suddenly we all are feeling hollow from inside. There is feeling that what we will do now.”
The actor, who is also the brand ambassador of West Bengal, thanked the supporters for staying loyal to the team despite the tumultuous period of four years.
