Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is likely to withdraw himself from the forthcoming one-day series against the West Indies, said Bangladesh national team chief selector Minhajul Abedin.
‘Shakib is most likely to miss the ODI series. However, I am not confirming you it officially. Hope to officially confirm the news in a short period of time,’ Minhajul told New Age on Wednesday.
Bangladesh suffered a 2-0 clean sweep in the just concluded Test series against the West Indies.
In the first Test in Antigua, the Tigers lost by seven wickets while in the second Test, they lost by 10 wickets in Saint Lucia.
After the conclusion of the red-ball cricket, the Tigers are all set to encounter the hosts in the white-ball cricket starting with the T20Is.
The three match T20Is are scheduled to take place from July 2, 3, 7 while the similar number of one-day internationals will take place on July 10, 13, 16.
