All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan finished on top of the one-day international wicket-takers chart with his 46 scalps. The left-arm spinner became the first Bangladeshi to complete the feat after yet another productive year.
The wickets came at an average of 26.0 and a strike-rate of 32.4. He took three four-wicket hauls, including his best of 4-33 against New Zealand in Christchurch.
Ryan Harris, the Australian fast bowler, is in second place with 40 wickets from 16 games, while Shakib’s teammate Shafiul Islam is in third position with 32 wickets from 23 games, at an average over 31.
His economy rate, 6.27, needs a drastic improvement but his haul is quite impressive given that it was his debut year in international cricket.
Abdur Razzak is fifth in the list (29 wickets) behind Stuart Broad who has 30 scalps.
Apart from the 46 wickets, Shakib has 787 runs from 27 ODIs apart from his 27 wickets and 464 runs from seven Tests this year. Overall, he has 129 ODI wickets at an average of 28.8.
