Great Britain’s Shamael Chaudhury clinched the boys’ singles title in the 27th Bangladesh Junior Tennis Championship 2013 after overcoming the challenge of Chinese Taipei’s Chen Tin 6-4 1-6 7-6 at the Ramna Tennis Complex on Monday. Top seed Shamael took the first set 6-4 before conceding the second set 1-6. Just when it appeared that Chen was taking the game away from Shamael, the Englishman hit back to take the decisive third and final set 7-6.
Meanwhile, in the boys’ doubles final, Chinese Taipei duo Chen Tin and Chen-Shan Kuo defeated Indian pair Ballekere Ravikumar and Sahil Gaware 6-3 1-6 10-8 to claim the crown.
A total of 94 participants – 64 boys and 30 girls – from 22 countries took part in the tournament.
