A 50-year-old share market investor was shot dead by unnamed assailants in front of his house at Kunjaban of Purba Rampura in Dhaka on Saturday night, the police said.
The deceased was Mohammad Shahidullah, a resident of the area.
Local people said that they heard two gunshots about 10:00pm and rushed to place only to find that a man was lying on the ground in front of his house.
The local people then took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Physicians said he had been shot in the throat and the chest.

The Rampura police said that they had sent a team to investigate the matter.
