The rescue operation to bring back Bangladeshi climber Mohammed Khaled Hossain alias Sajal Khaled who died while descending from Mount Everest after successfully climbing the summit started on Saturday. A 10-member Sherpa team has started from the base camp. Riaz Ahmed and Babu,
two friends of Khaled, are also helping the team.The Nepal Embassy is monitoring the operation, sources said, adding that it would be possible to recover the body by May 30 or 31. However, everything is depending on the condition of the weather.
Khaled’s corpse is at the south summit, some 28,750 feet from the ground level in the high Himalayas.
If the Sherpas bring the body of Khaled at base camp-2, the corpse will be carried by helicopter to Katmandu, Nepal from there, sources said.
On Thursday, the government in touch with the Nepal authorities, initiated to bring back home the body of Khaled who died on May 20.
