Bangladeshi golfer Siddikur Rahman geared up well for next month’s World Cup of golf in Melbourne by finishing joint-third in the Taiwan Masters tournament at the Taiwan Golf and Country Club on Sunday. Siddik ended up six shots behind the winner, Australia’s Scott Hend, who carded a two-over-par 74 in the fourth and final round to conclude his tournament with an overall three-under-285.
Siddik struck a five-over-par 77 on the final day, with seven bogeys and two birdies, to finished with an overall three-over-291 at the US$600,000 tournament.
The 29-year-old Siddik registered bogeys on the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 13th, 15th and 17th holes, while the birdies came on the first and 5th holes.
The joint-third finish will earn the Bangladeshi golfer US$36,000, while the triumphant Hend will take home US$120,000.
