Popular singer and actor Agun is nowadays only concentrating on acting and not singing. He is now passing busy days in working for television plays. However, Agun gives utmost priority in working in films though he is really choosey about selection of films.
‘I am really meticulous about working in films. I believe films are permanent form of art which may last even after hundred years,’ said Agun, who acted in a role of a painter in Humayun Ahmed’s film Ghetu Putra Komola, to New Age.
The strong script of the film inspired me to work in it. However, Before Ghetu Putra Komola, I worked in few films as child artiste when I was mere a kid,’ added Agun.
Agun, who is a regular television play artiste, thinks that working in films is challenging. Film is a vast project that takes months of time and hard work; whereas, television plays are merely shot time entertainment productions,’ observed Agun, who has worked in numerious number of plays since his bebut as an actor in 1998 with Kazi Lubnun’s play Simante Nodi.
Whatever it is, whether television plays or films; Agun is methodical in accepting an offer. ‘At first I go through the script and then my other variables like the character or director. I always believe in working with good script as I believe an artiste can show his/her ultimate acting capacity if the script is good,’ said Agun, who is also a popular singer.
‘My transition from singing to acting was not much hard as I am an artiste and for a true artiste, who has devoted his life for performing art; all sorts of performing arts whether singing or acting is easy task,’ revealed Agun.
Agun is currently busy in with working for several plays for different television channels.
