Noted actor-producer Sohel Rana has a knack for introducing a fresh talent in each of his production either before or behind the camera. He has held on to this trend for his upcoming production Adrishhya Shatru under the banner of his production house Parvez Films.
This time he has given the opportunity for a debut directorial venture to his son Mashrur Parvez and his nephew Akib Parvez for a full length feature film.
The film, Adrishhya Shatru, is an urban action thriller, the story of which has been developed and scripted by the two brothers with guidance from Sohel Rana.
‘I and Akib, have directed a number of short films, one of them has even been aired on private TV channel Channel-i. But, this is our first venture into directing a full length feature film,’ Mashrur Parvez informed in an interview with New Age.
‘I am very excited and passionate about filmmaking. I hope to live up to my uncle’s expectations,’ chirped Akib Parvez, who did courses on filmmaking in Malaysia, told New Age.
So far Zayed Khan, Priya Aman, Sucharita, Ahmed Sharif and Sohel Rana have been selected as the cast for the film. Shooting for the film will begin on the first week of June, and the film is expected to be released by this year.
‘Both Mashrur and Akib are keen in directing films. I have given them a chance to begin, and, obviously, I wish them success,’ Sohel Rana stated.
Sohel Rana began producing films in 1972 with the famous liberation war based film Ora Egaro Jon. Masud Rana in 1974 was the first film produced under the banner of Parvez Films that Rana formally started in 1973.
