The television channels of the country have chalked out special programmes to celebrate the 152nd birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore.
The list consists of plays and telefilms; shows featuring music, dance and recitation; talk shows; and magazine programmes.
ATN Bangla will air a documentary titled Rabir Chithite Bangladesh at 11:15am. The channel will also air dance drama Raikrishna Padabali, which will be presented by Nrtiyanchal, and special play Pratibeshini, directed by Abul Hayat, at 12:30 and 8:50pm.
Telefilm Rochi Momo Falguni and dance show Mukti Amar Alou Aloy will be aired on Baiskhakhi TV at 8:00 and 10:50pm respectively. Besides, a noted Tagore singer Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya will perform live at 3:00pm on the channel.
Channel i will live telecast day-long Rabindra Mela organised by the channel at its own premises.
The Rabindra special programme of NTV includes teleplay Shishir at 12:20pm and Aparichita at 9:00pm. The channel will also air talk show Rabindranath o Ma at 10:05pm.
Documentary Jora Sakor Thakur Bari and dance show Anandoloke Mongolaloke will be aired on Ekushey TV at 6:30pm and 5:30pm respectively. Play Hotath Dekha will be aired at 10.10pm on the channel.
Banglavision will air play Chhayanari, which is an adaptation of Tagore’s short story Kankal, at 9.05pm.
Magazine programme Phirey Chal Matir Taaney will be screened on Desh TV at 11.45pm. Maasranga Tv will air an array of shows including drama Banshi at 10:00am.
RTV will air play Osposto at 8:10.am. Noted poet Nirmalendu Goon has acted in the role of Rabindranath Tagore in the play.
