Sridevi’s English Vinglish will be premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival’s Gala Section. It’s one of the 18 movies specially selected by the festival organisers.
R Balki, who’s producing the film with Eros International, said, ‘It’s the most prestigious section in which the best films of the world are showcased. It does feel great to be in company of filmmakers like Ben Affleck, Mira Nair and Deepa Mehta, to name a few.’
It is learnt that when the festival director visited Mumbai some time ago, he saw the film and loved it enough to decide to host the premiere in the Gala section.
Gauri Shinde, who makes her directorial debut with the Sri-starrer, says,
‘It feels great when the film is specially invited for such a great platform’.
Balki and Gauri will head to Toronto along with Sridevi, Mehdi Mebbou and Adil Hussain, for their movie’s international premiere night on September 14.
