Star Cricket Club Limited has begun its journey with the hope of producing future cricketers and creating playing opportunities for the talented ones, it was announced at a programme on Friday at the Shahjahanpur Railway High School field.
Among the guests present in the inauguration ceremony of the cricket club were Bangladesh Cricket Board ad-hoc committee members Jalal Yunus and Gazi Ashraf Hossain, former national cricketer and commentator Athar Ali Khan, former captain and national selector Habibul Bashar, Everest-conquering mountaineer Musa Ibrahim and chairman of the Star Cricket Club Limited, Uday Hakim.
The distinguished visitors at the programme expressed hope for the success of the club and promised their assistance.
Showkat Ali, organisational director of the club informed that this initiative was taken in order to contribute to the country’s cricket. Showkat mentioned that they will form separate teams for the men and women, provide training and organise tournaments.
