Students from outlying areas top merit list
The first, second and third in the merit list of primary terminal examinations are from schools outside the capital, according to the results published on Tuesday.
Al Yasa of the Kodalia Government Primary School in Tangail stood first, securing 598 marks.
Yasa is the only son of SA Zakaria Haider Choudhury and Fahmida Chowdhury. Yasa’s father Zakaria is an assistant education officer of Tangail sadar Upazila while Fahmida is a housewife.
When it is a popular idea that a students must have a house tutor to have good results, Yasa did not have any private tutor.
‘But my school teachers helped me a lot. I am grateful to my teachers,’ Yasa told New Age.
With 596 marks, Sadia Hasan of Rajoyer Model Government Primary School in Madaripur and Naimur Rahman Naim of Sristi Academic School in Tangail stood second position.
Naim’s father Sahidul Islam is a businessman and mother Nasima Akter is a housewife.
‘Of course, for this result the credit goes to my school teachers,’ Naim said.
With 595 marks, Saptarshi Chandra of Chandranath Government Primary School in Moulvibazar and Tanvir Anjum Sadh of Monohardi Model Government Primary School stood third position.
Saptarshi’s father Subol Chandra runs a medicine shop and mother Dipali Rani Chandra is a housewife.
‘As our financial condition is not good, we had to struggle a lot to manage the educational expenses of our child. Now her good result is a good achievement for us,’ Dipali Rani told New Age.
‘As a teacher, it is a great achievement for me as my student’s result is better than those of some city school students. I feel proud of my students,’ Zahar Tarafder, the headmaster of Chandranath Government Primary School, said.
