Promising folk artiste Sujala Mohapatro has released her debut album titled Ei Manush-e Achhe Sei Manush Mishe that features some of the most popular songs of legendary bard Fakir Lalon Shai. The album was released from production house Gaaner Kheya on October 1. Ei Manush-e Achhe Sei Manush Mishe features a total of 10 Lalon songs including the likes of Guru Tumi Potito Pabon, Ei Manush-e Achhe Sei Manush Mishe, Moha Bhaber Manush Je Jon, Sei Prem Ki Samanne Jana Jay, and others.
Sujala’s melodious vocals can impress. The artiste has incorporated a range of acoustic instruments like tabla, dotara, flute, mondira and violin. Western instruments including keyboard and guitar have also been used in the album.
Sujala learned folk songs under the tutelage of noted artistes Farida Parveen and Mohammad Akbar Ali Shai.
‘Since my childhood, I have been passionate about Lalon songs. I have worked really hard for the album and hope that people will love it,’ Sujala said to New Age.
‘This album is just the beginning; I intend to explore other genres of folk music in the future,’ she added.
