Onek brishty jhore tumi ele -several such popular songs had been authored by the late poet, lyricist, professor Abu Hena Mustafa Kamal. His son Sujit Mustafa, who has gained fame mainly as a Nazrul singer has made an album titled ‘Onek Bristy Jhore’ containing 10 of his father’s songs under the
banner of Bengal Foundation.
Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed was the chief guest launched the album on Saturday at Bengal Foundation.
The album includes songs like Ei prithibir pathashalay, Jay jodi jaak pran, Nodir majhi bole eso nobin, Sei champa nodir tire, Dekechhile tumi.
Most of these songs have been sung previously by renowned singers like Runa Laila, Syed Abdul Hadi and Abu Bakr Khan.
In 1994, Sujit had launched an album that included a few songs penned by his father. Titled ‘Amar gaaner prothom charan khani’, the album was released under the banner of Atlantis Music from Kolkata.
However, this is the first solo album that encloses only Abu Hena’s lyrics. Sujit Mustafa told New Age, ‘The album is a small tribute to my father from me.’
