Rajshahi University based recitation troupe Swanan organised a two-day recitation programme to celebrate the 31st founding anniversary of the troupe.
The programme ended on Friday with a reunion of former and present activists of Swnan followed by a poems recitation programme at the Kazi Nazrul Islam Auditorium. Earlier the two-day long programme featuring procession, reunion and recitation of poems was inaugurated by the poet Belal Chowdhury with lighting candles and hoisting flags in front of the university’s Kazi Nazrul Islam auditorium on Thursday morning amid festivity on the campus.
Eminent writer Hasan Azizul Haque, poet Mohammad Kamal, Nishat Jahan Rana, Jayanto Roy, Ariful Haque Kumar, Masukor-a-Sattar Kallal were also present at the inauguration programme.
Subsequently, a colorful procession was brought out on the campus with the participation of present and former activists of Swanan that ended on the premises of central Shahid Miner.
The Swanan activists placed a wreath at the footstep of Shahid Miner. In the evening, the troupe presented poems by the representatives of Bangla literature at the Kazi Nazrul Islam auditorium.
