Sylhet people on Sunday demanded immediate resumption of Biman’s direct flight between Sylhet and London. They put forth the demand at a human chain programme organised by welfare organisation Sylhet Kalyan Sangstha at Surma Point in the city between 11:00am and 1:30pm.
Speakers during the human chain blamed the government for closing the flight of the state-owned airline on the Sylhet-London route since December
last.
They said the Biman authorities had suspended the flight on a meagre excuse of fogging in the December last, but yet to resume the flight.
SKS activists at the rally warned of tougher movement, if necessary, to force the government to resume the flight without further delay.
The organisation’s founder president Ehsanul Haque Taher chaired the programme, which was addressed, among others, by Zahangir Alam, Syed Akram Al Hasan, Salah Uddin Rimon, Hasan Talukdar and Shah Alam.
