The Sylhet Divisional Stadium was officially ruled out from the fixture of the forthcoming home series against Sri Lanka, said a Bangladesh Cricket Board official on Tuesday.
The decision was announced at a ticketing partnership declaration programme held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. ‘The match which was scheduled to be played in Sylhet will now be hosted in Dhaka,’ Nizamuddin Chowdhury, BCB’s acting chief executive officer, told the media.
‘The date will remain the same,’ said Nizamuddin, without elaborating the reason behind the announcement.
Sylhet was slated to make its international debut through the first one-day international of the Sri Lanka series on February 17.
The BCB chose United Commercial Bank as its ticketing partner for the home series that will get underway on January 27.
The bilateral series is packed with two Test matches, three one-day internationals and two Twenty20 Internationals.
The fans can book their tickets through Ucash, a mobile banking service provided by the UCB, before receiving it later from seven branches of the bank.
Dhanmondi, Bashundhara, Bijoy Nagar, Uttara and Mirpur in Dhaka and Dampara and Halisahar in Chittagong will provide the tickets after the process of online booking is completed.
Tickets can also be directly bought from the aforementioned bank branches.
The lowest price of tickets for the Test matches starts from Tk 20 while the cheapest ticket for ODIs and T20s is Tk 50.
