The Bangladesh Cricket Board hopes to receive ICC approval for the Sylhet Stadium, which was chosen to host the only Twenty20 International of the home series against New Zealand when the itinerary was announced on Tuesday.
Sylhet Stadium remains one of the four venues scheduled to be used in the forthcoming ICC World Twenty20, but the ICC has had major reservations about the ground. Playing an international match there before the tournament will improve its prospects of remaining on the World Twenty20 calendar, officials said.
According to the itinerary, the BCB assigned Sylhet for the Twenty20 match subject to ICC approval, which will be determined when the ICC inspection team arrives in the first week of October.
The BCB will also seek re-accreditation for the Fatullah stadium, which is expected to host the last One-Day International of the three-match series on November 3.
The issue of re-accreditation was raised because the venue has not hosted an international match since April 2006, when Bangladesh played Australia.
The touring New Zealanders will arrive in Bangladesh on October 1 and start their campaign with a three-day warm-up match at the MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong from October 4-6.
The Black Caps will then take on the Tigers in the first Test from October 9-13 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium before both teams return to Dhaka.
The second Test will be played from October 21-25 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, which will also host the first two ODIs on October 29 and 31.
