Expressing satisfaction over the verdict, the family members of Col Abu Taher said the nation has been freed from its long 37 years’ stigma through the judgement.
Giving her instant reaction, Lutfa Taher, wife of Sector Commander Col Abu Taher said, “As the wife of a freedom fighter I think, I got justice through the Monday’s full verdict.I have been bearing the stigma for a long. Today, I am happy and proud.” She also said it has been proved through the judgement that Col Taher was a real patriot. Terming the judgement as ‘historic and satisfactory’, Professor Anwar Hossain, younger brother of Col Taher, said the verdict also proved that Bangladesh is not a barbaric state.
