Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal has not suffered any serious injury in his right knee, said the physician of Bangladesh Cricket Board on Tuesday.
Tamim returned to Dhaka on Monday from Chittagong where the national cricketers are currently going through a conditioning programme to have an MRI after he was feeling pain in his right knee.
The team management wanted him to do the MRI to know the extent of the injury as it gave the Bangladesh team a scare ahead of the impending home series against Pakistan starting from November 29.
‘Tamim’s injury is nothing serious,’ said Monirul Amin, physician of the BCB.
‘He is feeling some pain in his patella [a bone at the knee] but there is nothing to worry about,’ said Amin.
‘Hopefully he will be all right after taking rest for two to four days,’ said Amin.
