Opener Tamim Iqbal is ruled out of the Dhaka Premier League after an MRI revealed that he tore his meniscus on the left knee, said an official of the Bangladesh Cricket Board on Sunday.
Tamim’s reported pain in his knee recently prompted the BCB to conduct the MRI, which, chief BCB physician Debasish Chowdhury, said revealed a tear.‘He is definitely ruled out of the Super League,’ said Chowdhury. We are now sending the report in Australia to determine if he is required a surgery.’
It was learnt that the BCB has sought the opinion of orthopedic surgeon David Young, who had earlier conducted the surgery on the knee of paceman Mashrafee bin Murtaza.
Tamim Iqbal said he is going through some pain and was looking forward to get himself cured in the quickest possible time keeping the World Cup in mind.
‘There is still some pain and the moment I start running it began to expose giving me all sorts of discomfort,’ said Tamim
