A teacher of Orbit Cadet School and College at Jamal Khan road in Chittagong was arrested by police on Tuesday over child abuse.
The arrested was identified as Osman Ghani, 30, from Maheskhali upazila of Cox’s Bazar.
‘We arrested him following the complaints made by the guardians,’ said Atikul Islam, officer-in-charge of Chawkbazar police station.
‘I found several scars in different parts of my child’s body. Being asked, he (the child) said that his teacher did it,’ said one of guardians of victims.
Everyday the accused teacher took two to three students to the rooftop of the school building for abusing them, he added.
The authorities took no steps though the guardians informed them of the matter.
The guardians informed police of the matter as the authorities paid no heed to their allegation, another guardian said.
M Nurul Alam, principal of the institution, denied getting any allegation from the guardians saying he came to know the matter in the morning of the day it happened.
‘We took rapid step against the accused after being informed of such infamous act,’ he said.
A case was filed against the accused under women and child oppression act, officer-in-charge of Chawkbazar police station said.
