Two Hollywood films- Terminator Genisys and Minions- will hit two Cineplexes in the capital today and run in those cinemas during the upcoming Eid festival.
Terminator Genisys, the fifth installment of sci- fi action franchise Terminator, will be released at Jamuna Blockbuster, while Minions, the third installment of animated comedy franchise Despicable Me, will be released at Star Cineplex simultaneously with USA. Terminator Genisys had its global premiere on July 1. Arnold Schwarzenegger has reprised his role as the eponymous character in the film. Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke and Jai Courtney have also acted in the
film.
Directed by Alan Taylor, the film features an action-packed story of saving a little girl. The film shows John Connor (Jason Clarke), leader of the human resistance against Skynet, sends Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back to 1984 to protect his mother, Sarah (Emilia Clarke), from a Terminator assassin.
Instead of a scared waitress, Sarah is a skilled fighter and has a Terminator guardian (Arnold Schwarzenegger) by her side. Faced with unlikely allies and dangerous new enemies, Reese sets out on an unexpected new mission- reset the future.
On the other hand, animated comedy Minions features the doings of small, yellow pill-like creatures who have existed since the beginning of time, evolving from single-celled organisms into beings who have only one purpose: to serve history’s most despicable masters.
Produced by Illumination Entertainment for Universal Pictures, the film was written by Brian Lynch, directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda. The film stars Pierre Coffin (as the Minions), Sandra Bullock, Jon Hamm, Michael Keaton, Allison Janney, Steve Coogan, and Geoffrey Rush.
