Around 25,000 Bayern Munich fans are expected to flock to the Allianz Arena to see new coach Pep Guardiola take each of his first two public training sessions next week, reports Soccernet.
Die Welt reported that the huge level of interest shown had led Bayern to relocate the training sessions from their pitches at Sabener Strasse to the stadium.With Munich’s underground trains not currently running through to the Allianz Arena, shuttle buses will be laid on to carry fans there.
A Bayern statement said: ‘The first two training sessions will be public. Due to the ongoing construction work on the Munich trains to the stadium, the capacity will be limited to 25,000 on both days.
‘Tickets will go on sale on Monday. The entrance fee of 5 euros will be donated to the victims of the recent flooding in Germany.’
On Monday, Guardiola will begin his media life as a Bundesliga coach with a press conference on Monday, to be broadcast live on several TV stations.
Bundesliga TV rights holder Sky is planning a full day of coverage of the new man at the helm, featuring Guardiola biographer Daniel Martinez as a studio guest.
The new coach, whose brother said he had been working ‘like a madman’ to learn German, plans to conduct the press conference in that language.
Meanwhile, Munich-based Abendzeitung published the first part of a series on Guardiola, revealing that he had used the name ‘Mr Gardomi’ to rent a flat during his New York sabbatical.
